My review: Oh my Gosh . If I wanted to be honest the first book is way (like I mean ... way) better. I don't think I have ever been more annoyed by a character before. It was like a really bad pingpong game throughout the entire book. America wants Maxon, she wants Aspen, she wants neither, she wants both. I was just sitting almost yelling "MAKE UP YOUR MIND ALREADY". America would get wrapped up with either Aspen or Maxon and then completely forget about the other. She has a problem with trusting Maxon, when she is practically ( spoiler ....well sort of.. if you don't want to know, skip the blue words) cheating on Maxon with Aspen ( well...a bit...sort of). Either way what happen between Aspen and America during this book would have been considered treason (at least by the king).
Don't get me wrong "The Elite" is A highly frustrating and yet wonderfully breathtaking read. I'm not going to lie, whilst reading The Elite you'll probably develop a deep, deep hatred for some of the characters, America included (America especially). I think the problem was that America has no idea what love is at all. At some point in this book I remember thinking everyone in this book is incredibly stupid (expect Marlee). By the end of the book I was like ...
The problem is that I am not sure if that is a bad or good thing.Even though I hated about 55 percent of this book, I will still read the last book. I mean I already put myself through the first two ( at least she will be forced to pick one guy).Hopefully I won't have to slap America in the face by the end of the last book. Fingers crossed. My rating: 2.95 out of 5
